Rice-Planting Experience at Kamidai

On May 21st., people gathered to enjoy rice-planting event in Kamidai.
They planted rice which will be used to create unfiltered cloudy sake.
The sake is Kaike Onsen original brand and called "Umi ni Furu Yuki ;Kamidai (Snow Falls on the ocean)"

This was their 6th year and anybody was able to join the event.

The weather was great and people enjoy the 素足で水田に入り、素手で酒米の苗を植えるという楽しい経験ができました。
日野川の支流・野上川の上流にある上代。澄んだ清流の水で育まれた酒米は絶品！

大自然の恵みを一杯に受けて育ったお米は、秋に収穫されお酒として生まれ変わります。

田植えのあとは、冷たい用水路で泥を洗い流す。素朴でいいですね。

田植え終了後は、「農家食堂 上代学校」で食事が振舞われました。
春の山菜を使用した家庭料理や打ち立てのそばなどが、地元のお酒とともにふるまわれました。
