Mr. Shigeatsu HatakeyamaPresident, NPO Mori wa Umi no Koibito (Forests are Lovers of the Sea)

Theme : Linkage of Forest, Farmland and the Sea
Born in 1943. Mr. Hatakeyama entered his family's oyster raising business in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture. He eventually realized the positive influence forests have on the ocean environment. Since 1989, he has been holding "Mori wa Umi no Koibito" (Forests are Lovers of the Sea) Campaign, in which he and his colleagues planted broadleaf trees upstream to make the ocean ecosystem alive. He received Forest Heroes Award from United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) in 2012.

Born in 1948. Mr. Tagawa is a local tourism advisor and also holds many key positions in various international tourism organizations and positively leads many projects on local tourism promotion and regional activation all over Japan.

~Tourism potential for Tottori from foreigners viewpoint~
Mr. Wong established Asian Overland Services Tours and Travel (AOS). His first job AOS was a guide at the age of 17 years old. He has been offering travel plans with nature tour and trying to connect ecotourism and international conferences and events. He also has been working on developing eco resorts and made his company one of the largest in Malaysia. He is a pioneer in ecotourism and holds an important post in an international organization and a traveling field.

Yonago Daisen Tourism AmbassadorMr. Tatsuno founded a company called MontBell which manufactures and sells mountain gears. He started an environmental sports event "Sea To Summit" in Tottori in 2009, and now the event is held at various places in Japan. With his strong bond with our area, he plays a role as Yonago Daisen Tourism Ambassador.
Dr. Takeshi Yoro A professor emeritus at Tokyo UniversityDr. Yoro is a prominent Japanese professor and a philosopher whose background is in anatomy. He has been fascinated by insects since childhood, he enjoys going into the wild to collect them in spare moments from his study. Recently he puts serious efforts to tackle environmental problems. He believes that we definitely receive blessing from the forest. His newest project is "Regeneration of Forestry by Building Wooden Houses".
Ms. Yoshie Ichige ActressMs. Ichige is one of the most popular actresses in Japan. She is very successful in stage performance, TV and films. She is also known as a mountain climber, which she had her first mountain-experience at the age of 40.She has been working on ecological concerns. An environmental counselor. Director of Japan Trekking Association.
Mr. Shinji Hirai Governor of Tottori PrefectureAfter graduating from Tokyo University's Faculty of Law in 1984, he joined the Minister of Home Affairs, and during the time assigned to work at Hyogo Prefecture, Fukui Prefecture and Tottori Prefecture. In 2006, he became the director of Council of Local Authorities for Inernational Relations (CLAIR). In 2007, he resigned from Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, and then elected as the governor of Tottori Prefecture.
